1. How did you get into your current career/what made you decide to pursue this career?

I have always wanted to be in a “helping” profession which is why I pursued a career in Human Resources where I spent over 20 years as an HR Consultant in a corporate environment.

Very early in my journey with Reiki I started to notice the benefits including a calmer, clearer mind, and the healing of many of my physical symptoms.  I also noticed I was able to manage my stress levels more effectively and became more resilient.  Because of the significant impact that Reiki has had on my life, I have now dedicated my career to helping others heal emotionally, spiritually and physically as I have.

  1. Do you have a special focus/specialization in your practice? Is there a reason why you have this focus in your practice?

In addition to placing of the hands (light touch) on different areas of the body and head, I use a “sounding” technique (utilizing the client’s voice) to assist clients in releasing both physical and emotional energy “blockages”.  This approach enhances and accelerates the body’s innate healing ability and re-establishes a normal energy flow throughout the body.

  1. What is your #1 health tip?

It is quite simple, breathe.  As often as possible, stop and take notice of how you are breathing; is it shallow, is it laboured?  The more often you can focus on being mindful of how you are breathing and ensure you are breathing fully and deeply, the greater the impact will be on your overall mood, stress level and well-being.

  1. What is your favourite thing about your practice?

Working one on one with clients and seeing the immediate impact Reiki has on their well-being.  Everyone’s story is so unique and I am honoured to have my clients share this with me every day and include me as part of their healing journey.

  1. What do you like to do for fun (any hobbies, activities etc)? Why do you enjoy these things?

I love spending time playing with my four-year-old son.  He is so full of energy and wonder and this fills my heart each and every day.

  1. What do you value most in your life? Why?

My health and my family.  I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband of 20 years and an incredibly funny, and adorable son, both of whom make me laugh every day.

  1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why?

I am perfectly content where I am today because it allows me to be close to the lake and many parks and forests nestled within a city setting.  As long as my family is with me, I am happy!
