Karina Kolbuc is a registered clinician with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University with additional certifications in addictions, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. She utilizes strategies and tools from Solution Focused Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy in exploring steps and possibilities for change. Karina strives to help individuals and families negotiate tough transitions of life in the smoothest way possible through guidance, therapy and coaching. She works with a variety of issues from individual (self-esteem, stressful life events, separation, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, anger), and family issues (family conflict, divorce, separation, behavioural concerns, substance abuse, children and adolescent mental health and parental coaching). Karina is a compassionate, empathetic and skilled therapist who has been successfully helping clients examine their thoughts and feelings, while achieving a greater sense of their own worth. Karina has been working as a therapist in mental health agencies, educational settings and the developmental sector. Throughout her experience Karina has worked with children, teens, adults and families.

Karina believes that our lives are all about our relationships but the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Karina’s primary focus is to ensure that her clients feel heard and supported while working towards their goals. As a skillful listener, she is adept at helping individuals recognize their strengths and abilities. With hope for well being, there is the ability to battle and to overcome challenges. Karina helps people regain a sense of control, peace and balance in their lives.

What Karina finds most enriching is the connection she creates with people. Together you will decide on treatment goals in order to ascertain that your expectations are met and together, you will create goals to aid you in getting back to your most authentic self.

She offers counselling and therapy in English and Polish.

Karina is a member in a good standing of The Ontario Association of Professional Social Workers and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She is responsible to adhere to the standards of practice set by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
