Talitha Reis is a Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner who is passionate about treating musculoskeletal pain, infertility, women’s health, neurological conditions, and chronic conditions affecting our aging population.
Her practice is geared to patients of all ages and centres around finding the root cause of illness. She utilizes all modalities within the Chinese medical framework including acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, cupping, gua-sha and tuina massage.
Talitha is a graduate of the Traditional Chinese Medicine program at Eight Branches Academy of Eastern Medicine, and earned her Acupuncture Diploma at the Institute of Traditional Medicine in Toronto. She is also a registered member of the CTCMPAO, as well as the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA), and Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB).
Soon after her graduation, she moved to Sichuan, China for an intensive clinical internship at Jing Zhen Tang Clinic and Third Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM. Here she conducted over 1000 patient visits, treating a wide-variety of conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, fibromyalgia, post-stroke recovery, insomnia, menstrual irregularity, obesity, and the side effects from chemotherapy and radiation in cancer patients.
Upon her return to Canada, Talitha was trained by Dr. Allen Jaseng Lee at Acupuncture & Physic Rehab. Here she focused on Korean Acupuncture and Cell Rejuvenation Therapy to improve circulation, energy, and self-regulation of the body.
Talitha has a keen interest in treating both acute and chronic pain affecting the musculoskeletal system. Conditions commonly treated include back pain, sciatica, disc herniations, ankylosing spondylitis, tennis elbow, knee injuries, shoulder strains, carpal tunnel, and more.
Talitha also treats a broad spectrum of neurological conditions affecting sensory and motor function. She supports patients who are recovering from stroke, Parkinson’s, and Bell’s Palsy.
Women’s health and fertility is another area of interest that was sparked by the birth of her son. She treats at all stages of pregnancy and supports labor preparation, induction, childbirth, nursing, and postpartum wellness.
Talitha works closely with seniors and has a passion for treating health concerns affecting our aging population. Conditions treated include impaired physical mobility, dizziness and vertigo, hearing and vision loss, urinary incontinence, arthritis, memory disorders and impaired reasoning.
