  1. How did you get into your current career/what made you decide to pursue this career?

 

As I was studying biology and nutrition and trying to find my own best health, I found there were gaps in the conventional system where myself and others were not getting the help they needed to prevent disease, have natural diet and lifestyle options for treatment and to feel their absolute best, and not just feel ‘OK’.

 

I was and continue to be inspired to be a ND through my desire to help others combined with facing many of my own health challenges: I’ve overcome fatigue, chronic stress, PCOS & fertility issues, and also digestive concerns. I’ve found not only solutions but realistic lifestyle options through my study in naturopathic medicine.

 

  1. Do you have a special focus/specialization in your practice? Is there a reason why you have this focus in your practice? 

 

I’m a woman’s and family health expert. In my role as a Naturopathic Doctor, I help busy women and burnt out Moms get more energy, reduce stress, and love their body and lifestyle again.

 

Further, I am really passionate about helping moms find clarity in the chaos so they can find a healthy balance and create a lifestyle that lasts for themselves and their families.

 

I went through pretty much every challenge on my journey to being (and surviving!) as a Mom- from fertility and hormone imbalance, life and relationship stresses, to the range of birth, baby and little one concerns we stress over as Moms. This has led me to focus on helping families create healthier, more balanced lives and thrive!

 

  1. What is your #1 health tip?

 

Don’t do something because it’s ‘supposed’ to be healthy. Pick a small action (ie. a healthy food, activity) that you enjoy, and just do it and enjoy it for what it is. This is what creates lasting habits which make the biggest impact on our health and our lives.

 

  1. What is your favourite thing about your practice?

 

Getting to know each person individually, and then seeing the changes, challenges, and health goals achieved over the months and years!

 

  1. What do you like to do for fun (any hobbies, activities etc)? Why do you enjoy these things?

 

I can’t live without my running shoes or yoga mat! I love getting outside every day to breathe and move, whether for a walk or jog. Fresh air and yoga energizes and relaxes and gets me feeling refreshed for whatever the day has to offer.

 

  1. What do you value most in your life? Why?

 

My daughter for sure- she keeps me energized, focused, and laughing! Family has always been very important to me, and having a little one and nieces now just enriches my life even more. My health is up there on the list as well, as I know I couldn’t enjoy my family and all the other wonderful things in life to the extent that I do if I didn’t have my health and vitality.

 

  1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why?

 

I’m honestly very happy to be here- very thankful for rights and freedoms, all the seasons, all the opportunities in Canada. Must admit though- Hawaii is tempting!
