Counselling for children and adolescents

Counselling for children can provide a child with coping skills that they need. Children often face the same stressors as adults but without the maturity to cope adaptively. Sometimes the issues are school related pressures or family challenges like divorce and death. At other times, the presenting issues are more complex.

When a child seems unusually anxious or sad or irritable for a long period of time and it is interfering with his ability to do things that are appropriate for kids his age, it is advisable to seek help. A child who is seriously anxious or depressed is not just suffering. He is missing out on important parts of his childhood. It is important that parents provide the child with help as soon as possible, before falling behind his peers in social and academic development.
