Counselling for Adults
Counselling offers you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It allows you to talk with someone who is trained to listen attentively and to help you improve things. Monica provides counselling services to adults by helping them to explore feelings and emotions that are often related to their experiences. This allows clients to reflect on what is happening to them and consider alternative ways of doing things. Monica offers emotional support through counselling in a confidential setting, and she offers them the time, empathy and respect they need to express their feelings and perhaps understand themselves from a different perspective.
Our professional psychologist enables patients to understand and cope with their own struggles while empowering them to make positive changes in their everyday lives. Counseling can be offered for a range of situations:
- Emotional distress
- Grief and Loss
- Personal development
- Personal Stress
- Suicidal Ideation
- Work-related stress
Counselling for children and adolescents
Counselling for children can provide a child with coping skills that they need. Children often face the same stressors as adults but without the maturity to cope adaptively. Sometimes the issues are school related pressures or family challenges like divorce and death. At other times, the presenting issues are more complex.
When a child seems unusually anxious or sad or irritable for a long period of time and it is interfering with his ability to do things that are appropriate for kids his age, it is advisable to seek help. A child who is seriously anxious or depressed is not just suffering. He is missing out on important parts of his childhood. It is important that parents provide the child with help as soon as possible, before falling behind his peers in social and academic development.
Counselling is beneficial for:
- Attachment issues
- Anger management
- Blended family
- Grief and Loss
- Parents Separation or Divorce
- Social difficulties and behavioral challenges
- Sibling rivalry
