Krista is a graduate of Toronto’s Sutherland-Chan. She is a member in good standing of both the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario.
Krista’s passion for palliative care is originally what led her to a career in massage therapy. It was in this setting she witnessed the power of therapeutic touch and its effect on the nervous system creating remarkable changes in the physical body.
Krista’s style blends intentional, slow Swedish techniques with purposeful myofascial release and grounding breathwork. Additionally, Krista is trained in cupping, trigger point therapy, and scar tissue release. She has taken continuing education courses in aromatherapy, palliative massage and is working towards her master level as a Reiki practitioner.
Krista firmly believes that everyone deserves massage but is very aware our society has put up blocks for many populations. She is body positive, neurodivergent and trans-inclusive – your comfort is her priority. She creates a caring, inclusive space to allow you to feel safe and whole within your body – a space where healing can begin. Krista is a trauma-informed therapist who has experience working with clients who are receiving adjunct somatic therapy for PTSD.
In addition to general wellness treatments, Krista also has experience treating clients of all ages living with:
- low back pain, headaches, and neck pain
- repetitive strain injuries
- carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger
- Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, fibromyalgia, stroke impairments
- sleep, mood and anxiety disorders
- pregnancy
- perimenopause
When not in the clinic you will find Krista close to water – walking, cycling, kayaking, birding or just enjoying the sunrise with a cup of tea.
